Annual Road Maintenance Fee:
Roads in Shady Lake are private, and maintained by the Shady Lake Park Property Owners Association. All Residents pay a mandatory Road Maintenance Fee of $125.00 whether or not they become members of the association.
You receive your road assessment in the mail at the end of the year, and it is due by the end of February 1st of the following year. If you do not wish to become a member of the association, please return only the road assessment invoice with your payment. You may disregard the membership coupon.
Plowing: The Shady Lake Park Property Owners Association (SLPPOA) is NOT responsible for snow plowing. The roads are plowed by private contractors hired by the Township.
Community Speed Limit: Important!.. Please observe speed limits for the safety of children and pedestrians.
Sump Pumps: Please Do Not pump your sump pumps or washing machines, or anything into the road.
This is against the law under Section 5.6 SUMP PUMPS of the Township Code, and violators are subject to a summons from the Township.
Maintaining visibility: Please keep foliage trimmed in area where it borders the road to avoid blind spots for drivers
WINTER MAINTENANCE
• Please do not shovel your driveway snow into the roadway. This causes dangerous and slippery situations.
• Try to keep the storm drains and drainage ditches clear so that any snowmelt will have a place to drain to.
• Remember the hills are slick, so give cars a chance when they are going up or down hills.
• Remember the Association does not pay for the plowing or sanding of the roads. They are plowed through the Township of West Milford.
